Abstract

Abstrak: Penentuan nomor benang Nm dalam industri tekstil dapat ditentukan dari nilai twist pada benang. Penentuan twist pada benang dapat diselesaikankan dengan berbagai teori pemodelan untuk menentukan hubungan antara twist pada proses spinning, baik di mesin ring spinning ataupun di mesin open-end spinning, terhadap nomor benang telah banyak dilakukan dan terus dikembangkan untuk mendapatkan bentuk pemodelan yang dapat memperlihatkan nilai twist terhadap nomor benang. Pada penelitian ini telah dijabarkan perumusan yang dapat memperlihatkan hubungan antara twist terhadap nomor benang dengan menggunakan pendekatan teoritik secara lebih lengkap serta pendekatan mekanika analitik (metode Lagrange) dan komputasi numerik. Didapatkan hasil bahwa rumusan twist optimum untuk mesin rotor open end \(T = 3,3 \beta \sqrt {N_m}\) sedangkan twist minimum adalah \(T = \beta \sqrt {N_m}\)
