BALANCE DE LÍNEAS EN LOS SISTEMAS DE PRODUCCIÓN

Abstract

Balancear una línea de producción es un desafío relacionado con la distribución de operaciones o estaciones de trabajo en una planta, con el objetivo de alcanzar la tasa de producción deseada. Esto implica asignar una serie de tareas u operaciones, cada una con un tiempo determinado, de manera que los tiempos asignados a cada estación de trabajo (ya sea operario, máquina o sección) sean lo más equilibrados posible, minimizando los tiempos muertos u ociosos. Aunque el ideal es lograr un balance perfecto, donde el tiempo muerto sea nulo, en la práctica esto rara vez se consigue debido a diversos factores. El problema de balanceo de líneas productivas consiste, en esencia, en determinar cuántas máquinas, trabajadores u otros recursos se deben asignar a cada estación de trabajo para garantizar que los tiempos entre estaciones sean lo más homogéneos posible. Este proceso generalmente se realiza considerando las tasas de producción requeridas, buscando siempre maximizar la eficiencia del sistema.
