Abstract

Open Science in der Soziologie Der Vortrag „Open Science in der Soziologie“ von Dr. Ulrich Herb, gehalten am 15. Dezember 2015 bei GESIS – Leibniz-Institut für Sozialwissenschaften in Köln, beleuchtet die Verbreitung und Akzeptanz von Open Science in der Soziologie. Es wird dargelegt, dass Open Access zu wissenschaftlichen Artikeln in der Soziologie verbreitet ist, während Open Access zu Buchpublikationen, Forschungsdaten und -software, Open Metrics und Open Review wenig Anerkennung finden. Gründe dafür sind unter anderem fehlende Finanzierungsmodelle, Qualitäts- und Markenfragen sowie die geringe Relevanz von Impact-Maßen in der Disziplin. Der Vortrag hebt hervor, dass Zitationsdatenbanken aufgrund nationaler und sprachlicher Besonderheiten in der Soziologie weniger aussagekräftig sind und Altmetrics oder Open Metrics eine alternative Perspektive bieten könnten. Die Analyse zeigt Chancen und Herausforderungen für eine verstärkte Implementierung offener Wissenschaftsprinzipien in der Soziologie auf.
