Educación superior y sostenibilidad: modelos pedagógicos para formar líderes sostenibles

Abstract

La investigación se centra en analizar cómo los modelos pedagógicos en la educación superior pueden contribuir a la formación de líderes sostenibles capaces de enfrentar los desafíos ambientales, sociales y económicos del siglo XXI. El problema central radica en la necesidad de integrar eficazmente competencias en sostenibilidad en los programas académicos con el objetivo de preparar a los estudiantes ante estos retos. La metodología empleada combinó un enfoque cualitativo, basado en entrevistas realizadas a seis docentes expertos en sostenibilidad, y un enfoque cuantitativo, que incluyó a 70 estudiantes de tercer nivel en universidades ecuatorianas. Estos participantes brindaron una perspectiva representativa sobre el enfoque pedagógico hacia la sostenibilidad. Los resultados revelaron que, aunque existen esfuerzos por integrar la sostenibilidad en el currículo académico, persisten barreras como la falta de recursos adecuados y la resistencia al cambio. A pesar de estos desafíos, se identificó que las estrategias más efectivas son el aprendizaje basado en proyectos y el trabajo colaborativo, ya que ambas permiten a los estudiantes aplicar conceptos de sostenibilidad en contextos reales. En conclusión, la investigación sugiere que los modelos pedagógicos deben ser más integrales y prácticos, abarcando no solo conocimientos teóricos, sino también fortaleciendo competencias prácticas y promoviendo la formación ética para desarrollar líderes capaces de tomar decisiones responsables ante los desafíos globales.
