Evaluación del comportamiento de FIME con alta carga de turbidez

Abstract

El sistema de filtración en múltiples etapas (FiME) fue evaluado como una alternativa para el tratamiento de aguas con alta turbidez en comunidades rurales. Mediante ensayos de laboratorio, se estudian las etapas funcionales del sistema: Filtros Gruesos Dinámicos (FGDi), Filtros Gruesos Ascendentes en Capas (FGAC) y Filtros Lentos de Arena (FLA). En los resultados obtenidos se evidencia una reducción promedio del 43.8% en la turbidez, destacando la eficacia del sistema en la remoción de sólidos suspendidos. Por su diseño económico, de fácil implementación y bajo impacto ambiental, el FiME se presenta como una solución técnica y viable para mejorar la calidad del agua y contribuir al bienestar sanitario en comunidades con infraestructura limitada.
