O Ensino de Canto e suas Conformidades: Museificação, Monocultura e Implicações Contemporâneas

Abstract

This article critically explores the dynamics of singing education, examining how pedagogical practices in conservatories and universities align with the logic of museification and vocal monoculture. Drawing from the ideas of Appadurai, Zumthor, and Meizel, it analyzes how institutionalized vocal instruction enforces Eurocentric standards that neglect local cultural diversity. The discussion articulates the colonial and neoliberal impact on vocal standardization, arguing that by imposing a universal aesthetic, singing education maintains a monoculture that suppresses authenticity and a plurality of vocal expressions. The article calls for an educational approach that respects the territorial and identity-driven aspects of voice within a culturally diverse context.
