Abstract

Familia Elmidae De distribución cosmopolita y gran diversidad a nivel mundial, en nuestro país está ampliamente representada, con más de 30 especies conocidas en 19 géneros (Archangelsky et al., 2009).Tanto sus larvas como la mayoría de los adultos son acuáticos y habitan, principalmente aguas corrientes con alto contenido de oxígeno disuelto (Kodada, Jäch, Èiampor, 2016). Para la provincia de San Juan, Manzo y Archangelsky (2001), citaron a Macrelmis isis (Hinton) y se registran por primera vez larvas y adultos de Austrelmis argentinensis Manzo y Archangelsky, A. tafi Manzo y Archangelsky, A. talampayensis Manzo y Archangelsky y A. robustus Manzo y Archangelsky.
