MŁODZIEŻOWE ORGANIZACJE PARAMILITARNE W POLSCE W OKRESIE MIĘDZYWOJENNYM

Abstract

Summary: Poland’s loss of independence in 1795 and many years of occupation left its mark on the Poles. After regaining independence, the nation engaged not only in the economic reconstruction of the country, but also in the creation of structures to ensure security. Military preparation of society, and especially of young people, was an indispensable element of education. In addition to military education conducted in schools of different levels, paramilitary organizations played an important role. In their activities, apart from shaping patriotism, they focused on the military production of youth. Most of these organizations originated from independence activities during the Partition period. Their multiplicity was because they brought together in their ranks members from different social groups, which were united by patriotism and the need for military adaptation of society. The author of the article presents some of the most numerous and most important paramilitary organizations operating in the Second Republic.

Autor artykułu przybliża kilka najliczniejszych i odgrywających dużą rolę organizacji paramilitarnych funkcjonujących w II Rzeczypospolitej.
