Abstract

Partie prenante du cycle de formation sur les données utiles pour l’analyse des territoires, ce module se concentre sur les recensements (de la population) avec un double objectif : Cours : introduire aux principales connaissances nécessaires pour comprendre les intérêts et les limites de cette source, notamment dans une perspective d’utilisation internationale. Le cours est organisée en quatre parties : définitions contextes géographiques et historiques méthodes de production enjeux-usages-défis. Exercices : à partir des données archivées par IPUMS international, prendre en main des données individuelles de recensement et les utiliser pour de premières analyses simples. La partie d’exercices est organisée en trois parties : importation de données (protocole de sélection et commande de données sur le site IPUMS international) préparation des données (création de deux tables de données agrégées, structurelles et de flux) utilisation des données pour répondre à des consignes d’exercices (sur la densité population, les structures de population, les migrations, etc.) Différents exemples sont utilisés pour rendre plus concrète la formation : notamment la comparaison des recensements béninois et français pour la partie cours, et les données du recensement béninois 2013 pour la partie exercices.
