The deliverable “A process for incremental improvement and matching the needs of citizens to solutions of tech providers” is part of the European Horizon project CommuniCity. It outlines a process for collaborative incremental improvement, matching the needs of marginalised citizens with technological solutions. CommuniCity started by running pilots for marginalised groups with the cities Amsterdam, Porto and Helsinki, with a view to eventually running 100 pilots across Europe. The deliverable, a product of Work Package 2 on Ethical and Inclusive Engagement, addresses the social position of marginalised groups, emphasising technology's dual role to both exacerbate and alleviate their position in society. In this deliverable there is room for two types of interpretation: the adaptation of existing tech solutions to the needs of marginalised groups and the development of tech solutions tailored to these needs.
