Efektifitas Posisi Semi Fowler Dan Posisi Orthopnea Terhadap Penurunan Sesak Napas Pasien Tb Paru

Abstract

Pulmonary TB disease is characterized by shortness of breath. Semi-fowler position and orthopnea position can help the development of the chest cavity so that patients experience decreased shortness of breath. This study aims to clarify the effectiveness of semi-fowler position and orthopnea position to decrease shortness of breath of pulmonary tuberculosis patients. This research used Pre-Experiment method with Two-group pre-post test design. Sampling technique in this study used consecutive sampling. Sample of pulmonary tuberculosis patients experiencing shortness of breath in November-December 2016 at Muhammadiyah Lamongan Hospital. Data collection with observation sheet and data were analyzed using pairet t-test and independent t-test with significance p = 0,000 (p <0,05). The result of research showed that there was influence of semi-fowler position to decrease shortness of breath of pulmonary TB patient, there was influence of orthopnea position toward decrease of breath of patient of pulmonary tuberculosis and there was effectivity of semi fowler position and orthopnea position to decrease shortness of breath patient of pulmonary tuberculosis. Proper positioning and comfort in patients is very important especially patients who experience shortness of breath, the results of this study indicate that the position of semi-fowler more comfortable and more easily understood by the respondent but the position of orthopnea is more effective for decreasing shortness in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis shown flat The decrease in the shortness of 5 compared to the semi-fowler position with an average decrease in shortness of 4. The results showed that the position of orthopnea was more effective than the semi-fowler position, and orthopnea position was preferred for sleep position adjustment to reduce shortness in pulmonary tuberculosis patients.
