DESARROLLO NATURAL DE Salicornia bigelovii (TORR.) EN ZONA COSTERA DE LA SALINA EL REAL EN SANTA LUCIA, CAMAGÜEY

Abstract

Con el objetivo de determinar variables fitosociológicas y fenológicas de Salicornia bigelovii en zona costera de la salina el Real en Santa Lucia, Camagüey se desarrolló este estudio en el mes de febrero de 2023, que tomó como área experimental sitios explotados en la producción salina. Se realizaron parcelas de muestreo de 0,36 m2 (60*60 cm) distribuidas aleatoriamente. Se evaluó el número de individuos, el diámetro de copa de cada espécimen y su altura. Se determinaron los estadísticos descriptivos media y Error standard de la media con el paquete estadístico StatGraphics Centurion XV Versión 15.2.06. Se identificaron plantas recién germinadas, maduras, florecidas, recientemente secas (con semillas) y secas viejas (sin semillas), evidenciando que varias generaciones se superponen en el tiempo. Se determinó que existen 18 plantas/m2 y aproximadamente 185 000 plantas/ha; el diámetro de copa de las plantas oscila entre 8,0 y 22,0 cm para una media de 15,44 cm; referente a la altura, los especímenes evaluados presentaron entre 15,0 y 30,0 cm y un valor medio de 23,7 cm. Se identificaron individuos aislados de hasta 43 cm de alto, 43 cm de diámetro de copa y 43 cm de diámetro del sistema radical con 11 cm de profundidad de estas; la condición de aislamiento propició al parecer mejores condiciones nutritivas y de humedad con un mejor resultado productivo. S. bigelovii posee potencial de colonización de ecosistemas de alta salinidad de la zona costera utilizada para la explotación salinera, dando evidencias de la posibilidad de su cultivo con fines económicos en estas áreas y para la selección de materiales promisorios conducentes a la selección de variedades cubanas de esta especie.
