The DRESS syndrome is a severe drug reaction characterized by a generalized skin rash, hyper eosinophilia, and visceral involvement. The incriminated medications include primarily antiepileptics, sulfonamides, allopurinol, and less frequently vancomycin. We present here the case of a 45-year-old patient who developed a DRESS syndrome after taking vancomycin. This observation highlights the clinical presentation, diagnostic challenges, and associated pathogenesis and treatment of this syndrome.
