Abstract

Identificar los procesos de mutación que afectan a las secuencias de ADN es fundamental para una mejor comprensión de como evolucionan los genomas. El mecanismo de replicación, durante el cual las cadenas se exponen a un elevado daño mutacional, se ha descrito como una de las principales fuentes de sesgo en la composición nucleotídica las cadenas. En este trabajo se presenta seq2R v1.0.0, un paquete de R que detecta singularidades en la composición de genomas mitocondriales (ADNmt) y que está disponible gratuitamente en el CRAN (Comprehensive R Archive Network). Para ello, se han implementado técnicas de suavizado tipo kernel que estiman los índices nucleotídicos y se han aplicado métodos bootstrap en la construcción de intervalos de confianza para dichas estimaciones. Además, este paquete permite representar gráficamente la estimaciones obtenidas y realiza inferencia sobre los puntos de cambio (o singularidades) de interés.
