
* Somoplatus Dejean, 1829 The genus is distributed throughout the Afrotropical and Oriental Regions (Lorenz 2021). The African species were reviewed by Basilewsky (1986) and later by Schüle (2009). There are 14 and one species recognized for the former and the later Regions, respectively (Lorenz 2021). Ecological remarks were provided by Basilewsky (1986). The genus was not recorded for Guinea ‒ Bissau, but here are four new records for this country.
