Anaulacus (Caphora) africanus

Abstract

Anaulacus (Caphora) africanus (Alluaud, 1915) Distribution: ANG, CAM, CON, DOC, GBI, GUI, KEN, MLI, RCH, RRW, SEN, TAN. Distribution in Guinea-Bissau (Administrative Regions): 1) CAC, OIO; 2) TOB. Historic records: Bissorã (OIO), Varela (CAC) (Serrano 2009a). Material examined: Jemberem (IBAP) (11º 14´08.32´´ N, 15º 02´18.25´´ W, 29 m alt.) (TOB), 9.VII.2009, 1 male, LT, A. Serrano leg., ASC. Remarks. The species is widely distributed throughout western, central and eastern Africa (Lorenz 2021). It was first reported for Guinea-Bissau by Serrano (2009a). The adult specimen was captured by LT within a semi-humid forest (Table 1). It is a new species record for the TOB Administrative Region, Guinea-Bissau.
