Abstract

O uso de plantas no manejo para controle de pragas tem sido comum desde aantiguidade. Os compostos com ação inseticida obtidos dos diversos órgãos das plantassão denominados inseticidas botânicos. Esses inseticidas desempenham um papelimportante no controle de pragas, sendo diversas famílias botânicas promissoras comofonte de compostos inseticidas, com destaque para Asteraceae, Annonaceae, Canellaceae,Lamiaceae, Meliaceae, Piperaceae e Rutaceae (Moreira et al., 2006). Alguns dosderivados mais conhecidos de famílias vegetais são o Neem (Azadirachta indica) A. Jusse a piretrina (Chrysanthemum cinerariifolium) que são amplamente utilizados em todo omundo, por serem menos prejudiciais ao meio ambiente e à saúde humana (Isman, 2005;Hodoșan et al., 2023).
