Preventing heat stress in layer systems with covered veranda and outdoor access

Abstract

Good practices for preventing heat stress in laying hens are described in this factsheet. These include tunnel ventilation, cooling pads, pophole management, cool drinking water as well as the design of the barn, covered veranda and outdoor area.
