The effect of Cu on irradiation-induced growth mechanisms in Zr alloys following neutron irradiation

Authors: Andrew, Callum;

The effect of Cu on irradiation-induced growth mechanisms in Zr alloys following neutron irradiation

Abstract

Poster submitted for the 21st ASTM Symposium on Zirconium in the Nuclear Industry. The effect of copper on irradiation-induced growth mechanisms in zirconium alloys was investigated through transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction line profile analysis and atom probe tomography. Second phase particle and dislocation loop evolution was examined with the behaviour of Cu on these defect mechanisms analysed.

Keywords

Irradiation Growth, X-ray Diffraction Line Profile Analysis, Second Phase Particles, Transmission Electron Microscopy, Zirconium, Zirconium Alloys, Nuclear Energy, Dislocation Loops, Copper
