PARENTS' SUPPORT, LEARNERS' MOTIVATIONAL PRACTICES AND ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE ON BLENDED LEARNING IN MAPEH

Abstract

The main purpose of the study was to determine the parents' support learners' motivational practices and academic performance of the Grade VI pupils of the Third Congressional District for the academic year 2022-2023. This further sought to verify the relationship of parental support to MAPEH VI academic performance and motivational learner to MAPEH VI academic performance. Furthermore, it sought to determine the relationship between the parents' profile and the MAPEH VI academic performance. This study employed the descriptive study design in the relationship between the mentioned variables. The data gathered were treated, analyzed and interpreted through the average percentage formula, weighted mean, spearman rank coefficient and chi-square. It shows that Parents' support has a significant relationship with the learners' academic performance in MAPEH VI. In addition, the motivational practices of the learners have no significant relationship between the academic performances in MAPEH VI. Moreover, the parent profile, highest educational attainment, gross monthly income and occupation manifest significant relationship to the academic performance. Thus, a campaign and encouragement for parental support is needed to come up with good results in learners' academic performance. A proposed training design suggests that the District Supervisor may look into the possibility of providing opportunities of conducting training and seminars on how parents can support their children in their academic activities. The school heads may encourage the teachers to see the Action plan for the plan for the suggested activities for seminars in parental support. Finally, other researchers may conduct aligned studies on the factors that may affect the learners' academic performance in the study.
