
This infographic and the accompanying recommendations provide a summary of the outcomes from various activities conducted as part of the NERC-ESRC CoOpt research project, Resilient Coasts: Optimising co-benefit solutions (2021-25). The project involved a multi-step Fuzzy Cognitive Mapping exercise, during which 11 mental maps were co-developed with coastal stakeholders. Additionally, a Soft Systems Methodology exercise was conducted, bringing together a diverse group of coastal professionals to examine how decisions are made in the UK regarding coastal flood and erosion risk management schemes.
