LM4-SHARC v1.0: Resolving the Catchment-scale Soil-Hillslope Aquifer-River Continuum for the GFDL Earth System Modeling Framework

Abstract

This repository includes the source code of SHARC v1.0.0 (or Soil-Hillslope Aquifer-River Continuum v1.0.0), a land hydrologic scheme developed as a component of the fourth generation of the land component of the GFDL Earth system model (i.e., LM4). The LM4-SHARC has been tested at the catchment scale using GSWP3 forcing (i.e., standalone). This repository includes model input data: Model domain for the study catchment Providence Creek headwater catchment. Forcing input Scripts to complie LM4-SHARC (w. SHARC v1.0.0). The entire source codes to run the LM4-SHARC (as a standalone version) for an individual catchment. Future updates will include expanding the model domain's scale to a basin (consisting of multiple catchments) or continental/global scale with an implemented reach-to-reach connectivity scheme. See the README file for more details about this software.
