
A spacious atrium in the new Niels Bohr Building in Copenhagen has been namedafter the astronomer Julie Vinter Hansen. An event took place here with welcome by MarenMalling as chair of Women in Physics who had given the name. She gave the reasons for thenaming and introduced as speakers three astronomers who had known Vinter Hansen in the1950s. The presentations with many illustrations are included here and provide an authenticview of Danish astronomy at that time long ago and of Vinter Hansen as astronomer and actingdirector and as a person.
