APPLYING FAIR PRINCIPLES TO MICRO-CT DATA, THE CASE OF MAPWORMS PROJECT

Abstract

The need for trustworthy research repositories has become crucial because project results should live beyond the projects’ lifecycle. During the HORIZON-EIC project, entitled Mimicking Adaptation and Plasticity in WORMS (MAPWORMS), bio-inspired robots of marine Annelida will be created by the combination of different data types. The creation of a Data Management Plan (DMP) was essential for the adoption of the FAIR principles by these multidisciplinary project data. Micro-CT data will be used by the MAPWORMS project to describe the morphological and anatomical characteristics of annelids. The FAIRification of the micro-CT data is challenging due to lack of standardized practices. This study aims to apply the FAIR principles to the micro-CT MAPWORMS data through Micro-CTvlab; a web based virtual laboratory for micro-CT data. The proceedings of the conference where this presentation took place are available online at https://hydromedit.gr/.
