Abstract

FIGURES 22–31: Ulota magellanica. 22. Habit. 23. Mature capsule with the endostome erect, a common position of this structure in this species. The wide, flattened neck gives a longer aspect to this specific capsule. 24. An operculate capsule. 25. Calyptra. 26. A vaginula from a dry specimen, with the conspicuous vaginula hairs naturally exposed. 27. Detail of the mainly uniseriate, smooth vaginula hairs. 28–29. Leaves. 30. Perichaetial leaf. 31. Spores. (Figures 22, 24, 28 & 29, from Garilleti 2012–018b, Figures 23, 25 & 26, from Larraín 26594 & R. Vargas, Figures 27 & 31, from Larraín 26756b & R. Vargas, Figure 30 from Lara & San Miguel 18-12-2005). Photographs by R. Garilleti.
