Abstract

Brachmia infixa Meyrick, 1938 (Figs 4a–b) Brachmia infixa Meyrick, 1938 — Institut des Parcs Nationaux du Congo belge, 14, 17. Type material. Holotype ♂ (abdomen missing), [DR Congo] Musée du Congo, Rutshuru (1285), 27.xii.1933 - 6.i.1934, G.F. de Witte, Parc Nat. Albert | Holotype, B. infixa M. | R. Det. 4080 M | Congo belge: Kivu, Rutshuru, 1285 m, 27.xii.1933 - 6.i.1934, G.F. de Witte: 141 | E. Meyrick det., 1937: Brachmia infixa Meyr. (RMCA). Remarks. Brachmia infixa was described based on the male holotype. The specimen lacks the abdomen, but superficially looks similar to B. cirrhopa, except that segment 3 of the labial palpus has a brown subapical ring (absent in B. cirrhopa), and the forewing has three distinct brown spots in the cell (two diffuse spots in B. cirrhopa). Distribution. DR Congo: North Kivu Province.
