Abstract

A Reserva Particular do Patrimônio Natural (RPPN) é a única categoria de Unidade de Conservação oficial cujo proprietário não é o poder público, mas a iniciativa privada. Tal fato demonstra o grande potencial da iniciativa privada na preservação, proteção e recuperação dos biomas brasileiros. Para melhor compreensão deste assunto, foi realizada uma revisão bibliográfica sobre a legislação específica para as RPPNs do Estado de São Paulo, independentemente da aplicação de tais leis, e um levantamento de seus benefícios e incentivos tributários de sua instalação.
