
The article analyzes scientific research on the development of recreation and its economic impact on territorial communities. It was revealed that in recent years, various aspects of this problem have been studied in the scientific literature and dissertations, but no comprehensive and systematic approach to public management in this area in the conditions of decentralization has been found. In addition, no special studies dedicated to this problem were found, and the existing scientific works only touch on certain aspects of this issue. The principles and methods of development of recreational potential at the regional level in conditions of decentralization are defined. The domestic and foreign experience of public management of recreation and tourism at the regional level is considered.
