The Indian fruit-eating bats Cynopterus sphinx make foliage tents using creeper plants Vernonia scandens. These foliage tents are made by chewing and clipping the twigs of the interior of the foliage. The number of bats roosting in a tent varied between 1 and 9. Here we report the tent making behaviour of C. sphinx.
