This research explores the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the creative process of 51 undergraduate students in Primary and Early Childhood Education, aiming to understand how this technology affects both the perception of one's creative ability and the development of artistic skills. The study follows a mixed design, combining quantitative and qualitative methods, where participants are encouraged to compare their handwritten work with that generated by AI. The results show a positive perception towards AI, highlighting its contribution to generating new ideas and improving quality in details. From the findings, it is emphasized the need to adopt a skeptical and responsible policy towards the generated proposals, and to critically assess their suitability. The value of AI as a creative accelerator that allows for the exploration of new possibilities without replacing personal effort and human originality is stressed.
