Qualitative Study on Chemistry Education for Repositioning Good Governance, Sustainable Economic Growth and Development in Nigeria: a Systematic Review

Abstract

The article is a systematic review that focuses on the role of chemistry education in shaping good governance, promoting sustainable development, and driving economic growth. Through a qualitative analysis, this study aims to explore the current state of chemistry education and it impacts on these important factors. The findings of this study will provide valuable insights into how chemistry education can be repositioned to better support good governance, sustainable development and economic growth. By examining relevant literature, this study will identify key themes and trends in the field of chemistry education and its intersection with these vital areas. This systematic review has the potential to inform policy decisions and drive future research in the field of chemistry education and its role in promoting societal progress. This paper underlines some recommendations which include development of national chemistry education strategy, increased investment in research and development, and promotion of public-private collaborations. The paper finally suggests increased government presence and funding coupled with the establishment of standard research laboratories in all institutions of learning, adequate and regular local and international capacity building for chemistry teachers among others as way out. Nigeria can take advantage of potential economic benefits of chemistry education and, in turn, achieve greater good governance and economic development. Keywords: Chemistry, Chemistry Education. Economic Development, Good Governance
