Zygoneura (Zygoneura) occidens Zhang & Wu 2010

Abstract

Zygoneura (Zygoneura) occidens Zhang & Wu, 2010 (Figs 14A–D) Zygoneura (Pharetratula) occidens Zhang & Wu, 2010 [Zhang et al. (2010): 45; Shin et al. (2014): 562; Huang et al. (2020): 361]. Type locality. China: Sichuan Province, Yaan. Type Material. Holotype (1♂) in Coll. ZAFU (China). Material examined. Holotype [SM00946], 1♂, Sichuan province, Yaan, Labahe, 1200m, 29°59′ N, 102°59′ E, 16.VII.2006, leg. Xiao-Ling Niu. Additional description. Male. Head brown, antenna and maxillary palpus yellowish brown. Eye bridge four facets wide. Face with 7–8 setae. Maxillary palpus with three segments (Fig. 14B). Fourth antennal flagellomere 3.5 times as long as wide, body with long subequal setae (Fig. 14D). Thorax brown. Wing membrane without macrotrichia (Zhang et al. 2010: 46, Fig. 3D), anterior veins slightly darker than posterior veins. M 1, M 2, CuA 1, CuA 2, r-m with no setae. stM faintly visible in the specimen. Legs (Fig. 14A) yellowish. Tarsal claws three-toothed. Hypopygium (Fig. 14C) yellowish brown. Gonocoxae longer than gonostyli, ventral medial margin with two weakly visible groups of setae. Gonostylus (Fig. 14C) somewhat oval, with three megasetae at the apical third. Tegmen membranous, wider than high. Aedeagus long and slender (Fig. 14C). For detailed description, see Zhang et al. (2010). Remarks. Only holotype seen, 1♂ paratype [SM00947] is lost. This species resembles Z. (Zygoneura) sciarina Meigen in the gonostylus with three megasetae. However, it can easily be diagnosed by the oval shape gonostylus, and the position of the three megasetae is completely different as compared to the latter species (Fig. 14C). Distribution. China: Sichuan, Xizang (Zhang et al. 2010).
