
Abstract: This paper explores the imperative for sustainable transformation within India's insurance sector, emphasizing alignment with the United Nations' Sustainable Insurance Principles (SIP) as a strategic framework for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations gain prominence globally, the insurance industry is pivotal in fostering sustainable development. The paper analyses the current state of the Indian insurance sector, identifies challenges and opportunities, and outlines a roadmap for aligning with SIP to contribute to realizing SDGs.
