Better metadata, better management: improving PhD support in universities

Abstract

This case study is about how we improved the management of information about PhDs in universities and ultimately produced a software product called PhD Manager. Our solution for managing information about PhDs was built on top of a system, a platform, that was designed to enable us to represent the real world. It's an open source platform called Haplo.
