OCORRÊNCIA DA MALÁRIA NO VALE DO JURUÁ: UMA ANÁLISE DA SÉRIE HISTÓRICA DOS CASOS ENTRE 2013 E 2022

Abstract

A malária, causada por protozoários do gênero Plasmodium e transmitida por mosquitos Anopheles, é endêmica no Vale do Juruá, Acre. A falta de recursos financeiros e humanos, associado às subnotificações e a dificuldade de acesso na região, comprometem a efetividade das medidas de controle da malária. O presente reuniu informações sobre a prevalência dessa doença, no que tange à região do Vale do Juruá nos últimos dez anos, de 2013 a 2022. Foi possível observar que os casos de malária autóctone na região estão reduzindo ao longo dos anos e estão mais relacionados às áreas rurais, ao sexo masculino, à baixa escolaridade e aos mais jovens. O levantamento epidemiológico da situação regional é importante a fim de desenvolver estratégias mais efetivas de controle e de prevenção, visando reduzir a incidência e o impacto na população local.
