This is the first record of the species from Namibia, otherwise recorded from numerous countries: Algeria, Australia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, China, Egypt, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Japan, Lebanon, Myanmar, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Spain, Sudan, Uganda and Zimbabwe (Freeman 1956; Freeman and Cranston 1980; Curtis 1991; Harrison 2004; Qi et al. 2012).
