PROJETO TAM TAM: POLÍTICAS EM SAÚDE MENTAL VIA LINGUAGENS ARTÍSTICAS

Abstract

Estuda-se a política de desinstitucionalização de pacientes da Casa de Saúde Mental Anchieta, de Santos, na década de 90 e suas consequências ao longo de 30 anos. São objetivos deste trabalho: i) refletir acerca da reforma psiquiátrica no Brasil, de modo sintético e ii) descrever o processo de criação e implantação do trabalho de desinstitucionalização de doentes mentais com linguagens artísticas e midiáticas no Centro de Convivência TAMTAM que adveio a partir da intervenção na Casa Anchieta, antigo manicômio em Santos, São Paulo. Como método de pesquisa, utilizou-se o estudo de caso com base em documentos arquivados ao longo da vida do pesquisador e outros disponíveis no site da instituição e sua página na rede social. Os resultados obtidos revelam o evidente sucesso do Projeto TAM TAM nos seus objetivos em devolver a dignidade ao interno, promovendo a inclusão social com a utilização de diversas atividades culturais e artísticas, mesmo após 30 anos da intervenção. Conclui-se que a desospitalização de pacientes mentais e sua inclusão social pode trazer benefícios para a sociedade e para todos os envolvidos e que políticas públicas neste sentido podem ser duradouras se se investir vontade política.
