FILOGENIA DE STRAMINIPILOS HETERÓTROFOS: UN ESTUDIO DE TRANSICIONES ECOSISTÉMICAS Y ESTRATEGIAS NUTRICIONALES

Abstract

Straminipila es un grupo de particular interés para el estudio de la evolución eucariota debido a su amplia diversificación. Filogenias moleculares soportan su monofilia, pero la ramificación al interior se ha mantenido controvertida. El estudio de las estrategias tróficas de Heterokonta, provee información importante para rastrear el origen de su heterotrofía, y las divergencias que presentan al cambiar de un ambiente marino a uno de agua dulce, o a uno terrestre. Este estudio exploró las relaciones filogenéticas entre los fila heterótrofos de Heterokonta (Bigyra y Pseudofungi), junto con su forma de nutrición y ecosistema. Los resultados obtenidos soportan el orden de divergencia entre los principales clados y las relaciones al interior. Se concluyó que mientras que para el filum Bigyra existe un ancestro fagótrofo y su diversidad se circunscribe predominantemente al ambiente marino con una gran cantidad de organismos depredadores en las redes tróficas, en Pseudofungi su ancestro es un osmótrofo, y sus representantes incluyen a uno de los grupos de parásitos más importantes de Eukarya, con una amplia diversidad de ambientes habitados y coevolución con sus hospederos.
