Pnigodes setosus LeConte 1876

Abstract

Pnigodes setosus LeConte, 1876 (Fig. 4) Especie asociada a hábitats semi-acuáticos o húmedos por lo que presenta escamas hidrófugas. Cuerpo de 2,8 mm de longitud, densamente cubierto de escamas ocráceas; rostro corto, robusto y curvado; protórax acanalado en vista dorsal, con los lados tuberculados y fuertemente constreñido en región anterior; élitros granulados con parches de setas oscuras y amarillentas, con una banda transversa de escamas blanquecinas en la región media posterior que conecta las interestrÍas 2, 3 y 4, interestrÍas elevadas o carinadas, emerge en cada interestrÍa una lÍnea de setas amarillentas, elongadas y curvadas, con un tubérculo pequeño en cada declive de los élitros (Tanner 1943). Material examinado. 1 espécimen de: MÉXICO, Veracruz, Estación Biológica Los Tuxtlas, 15-X-2013, 18°34’55,5”N, 95°04’37,1”O, 246 m, en trampa Malaise, col. M. Madora. Especie asociada a Lepidium sp. (Brassicaceae). Distribución. Canadá, Estados Unidos de América, México (nuevo registro).
