Complexities in Managing 12 Cases of Primary Amenorrhea in a Rural Tertiary Centre in North Bihar: A Retrospective Case Series

Abstract

This case-series was compiled in a span of 11 months to identify most common cause of Primary Amenorrhea among cases attending GOPD, to know it’s among patients attending GOPD and to depict the various modalities of treatment in such cases in MGM Medical College, Kishanganj, a Rural Tertiary Care Hospital in North-East Bihar. The mean age was found to be14.8 years, most of them (58.3%)were in Upper Lower Class. The incidence of Primary Amenorrhea was 5.5% among adolescent patients attending gynae OPD and the most common cause of Primary Amenorrhea was Mullerian Agenesis (16.6%). Management was done by Multidisciplinary approach based on aetio-pathology.
