This dataset includes time-averaged and instantaneous velocity, temperature, and streamfunction fields associated with the Direct Numerical Simulation of a single-box idealized and laboratory-scale ocean model representing the North Atlantic Ocean. The dataset comprises two-dimensional and three-dimensional data, enabling users to replicate all the figures shown in the JGR ocean paper "Three-Dimensional Ocean Circulation: Analyzing Wind and Deep Convection with Turbulence-Resolving Simulations." A one-dimensional Excel file for reproducing transport plots is also available. The data format is netCDF, which provides easy access and readability. The simulation contains various wind parameter S and buoyancy forcing, Rayleigh number, as indicated in the file names. The time-averaged fields are averaged over 200 buoyancy time scales.
| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 0 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Average | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
