COMPORTAMENTO DE RISCO DE PEDESTRES AO ATRAVESSAR VIAS EM CURITIBA/PR - UM ESTUDO OBSERVACIONAL

Abstract

No mundo, em 2010, 273.000 pedestres perderam suas vidas no trânsito. Essa pesquisa é um estudo observacional realizado em Curitiba/PR que busca avaliar a frequência dos principais comportamentos de riscos dos pedestres durante a travessia da via. São eles: utilizar o telemóvel para fazer ligações ou reprodução de áudios; manusear o telemóvel; estar com fones de ouvidos; atravessar para a da faixa de pedestre; atravessar a via enquanto a passagem sinalizada de pedestres estiver vermelha. Participaram deste estudo 348 pedestres. O comportamento de risco mais frequente foi "Atravessar a via enquanto a passagem sinalizada de pedestres estiver vermelha" (58,3%). Foi encontrada associação significativa entre gênero e "estar com fones de ouvidos" e "atravessar for a da faixa de pedestre". No primeiro caso, o comportamento foi além do esperado para pedestres do gênero masculino, e no segundo caso para pedestres do gênero feminino. Os dados indicam que se fazem necessárias intervenções em espaços públicos com o objectivo de prevenir comportamentos de risco e diminuir os altos índices de envolvimentos em sinistros de trânsito.
