ENVENENAMENTO POR CARBAMATO: RELATO DE CASO

Abstract

RESUMO O Carbofurano é um inseticida que inativa temporariamente a acetilcolinesterase permitindo a acumulação transitória do neurotransmissor acetilcolina nas terminações nervosas. Este estudo teve como objetivo descrever o envenenamento pela ingestão de um inseticida pertencente à classe dos carbamatos, o carbofurano, contido em um achocolatado, por um adulto de 24 anos, e uma criança de 3 anos, ambas do gênero feminino, fato ocorrido na cidade de Teixeira/Paraíba - Brasil. Os sinais e sintomas evidenciados eram indicativos de intoxicação pelo carbamato, sendo sua presença confirmada por exames toxicológicos. Palavras-chave: Envenenamento. Pesticidas.
