Micoinsecticidas, un engranaje más del proceso de sostenibilidad en la agricultura mexicana

Abstract

La gran problemática de combatir a los insectos plagas que pueden terminar con los cultivos rápidamente ha generado la dependencia y abuso de los insecticidas químicos, como consecuencia se ha ocasionado resistencia en los insectos y graves problemas ambientales y de salud humana. La Organización de las Naciones Unidas tiene como objetivo encaminar la agricultura hacia la sostenibilidad; para lograrlo el control biológico se muestra como una alternativa donde los hongos entomopatógenos demuestran ser microorganismos funcionales ya que se ha logrado controlar insectos invasores con daños severos en la agricultura como la langosta, el salivazo y la mosca blanca, entre otros insectos considerados plagas. En conclusión, se ha logrado un avance significativo de los micoinsecticidas como herramienta en el manejo de plagas en México y su uso encamina la sostenibilidad agrícola.
