
Altmetric analysis assesses the social interest in individual or institutional research performance in universities, research institutes, and research funding agencies. This study aims to analyze the top five journals in archaeology according to Google Scholar metrics. Also selected the top 10 articles from the journal Antiquity where highly cited papers were published. The study results reveal that the Journal of Cultural Heritage is the highest h5 index of 44 and a median h5 of 61. This study has found that different social media had shared the articles; the highest was Twitter (1211), followed by Mendeley (796) and News (98), respectively. The total altmetric attention score is 1876 in 10 articles published in the Antiquity. The highest altmetrics presence in this study is the 4th article by N. Price in 2019 with 736 Altmetrics attention score and the corresponding altimetric score is calculated with the help of mendeley
