
A utilização da altimetria espacial, inicialmente desenvolvida para monitorar e mapear os oceanos, expandiu-se para incluir o monitoramento de águas continentais, oferecendo uma valiosa ferramenta no estudo da dinâmica fluvial. Esta pesquisa se concentra na análise do perfil longitudinal do Rio Juruá, um dos principais afluentes da Bacia Amazônica, utilizando dados altimétricos dos satélites Sentinel 3A e 3B. Ao aplicar técnicas de sensoriamento remoto e o índice de Hack, identificaram-se padrões de declividade e variações de elevação ao longo do curso do rio, revelando desequilíbrios significativos em trechos específicos. Os resultados destacam a eficácia da altimetria espacial na elaboração de perfis hidrológicos precisos, essenciais para embasar ações de conservação e manejo sustentável dos recursos hídricos na região amazônica.
