Abstract

L’ensemble des phénomènes météorologiques crée une ambiance favorable à la multiplication des agents pathogènes qui, eninfectant les enfants, anéantissent leurs défenses immunitaires qui étaient déjà fragiles. Cette recherche vise à étudier lesdéterminants biophysiques et socio-économiques de la santé des enfants de 0 à 5 ans dans le 1er arrondissement de la ville deCotonou.L’approche méthodologique utilisée est axée sur la collecte des données, le traitement des données et l’analyse des résultats àl’aide du modèle PEIR. Au total, 102 ménages ont été enquêtés ou interviewés selon le cas.Les résultats obtenus montrent que les enfants de 0 à 5 ans sont les plus exposés surtout au paludisme (60 %), l’anémie (25%), les IRA (20 %), et des maladies diarrhéiques (5 %). La température et la pluviométrie sont les principaux facteursinfluençant la santé des enfants de 0 à 5ans. Pour atténuer ces cas de maladies, il faut sensibiliser d’avantage la populationsur les impacts de ces maladies.
