Da Casella a Checolino. Poesia e musica tra Duecento e Trecento a Firenze e Bologna

Abstract

Il quadro delle relazioni culturali tra Firenze e Bologna a cavallo dei secoli XIII e XIV può essere arricchito prendendo in esame le testimonianze letterarie, anzi poetiche, che offrono indizi sul rapporto tra musica e poesia, su come cioè la poesia incontra la musica, e viceversa. Questo esame non può esimersi dall’allargare lo sguardo all’Italia settentrionale, considerando il ruolo di mediazione svolto da Bologna, con la sua università, tra la cultura padana e le nuove istanze letterarie toscane e l’importanza che la musica riveste nel contesto delle principali corti di quell’area geografica, dove a partire dal secondo quarto del Trecento svolsero la loro attività i primi musicisti dell’Ars Nova italiana. Ne emerge una dinamica che non smentisce il continuo scambio tra i due ambienti, indicandone la direzione rispetto alle fasi di produzione della poesia lirica.
