Storage site monitoring plan (SMP) is one of the main obligations of a storage site operator, both during site operations and after site closure. The aim of this SMP was to test the prescribed methodology for a specific geological location and, at the same time, to prepare an important document for the application for a CO2 injection permit. As an input, the SMP involves international CCS project guidelines, international scientific literature and recommendations from individual reports of the CO2-SPICER project. The SMP evaluates and ranks all methods used during the baseline monitoring and proposes other methods recommended to be used in all stages (baseline, operational, post-closure) of the project. A design of well monitoring system was suggested for the CO2 injection well including installation of permanent wellhead pressure and temperature gauges in combination with flow-meter at the wellhead.
