Abstract

Este póster presenta el proyecto de investigación Words That Mattered. The Narratives of Belonging in the Late Medieval Hispanic City, que se desarrolla en el marco del programa UNA4Career en el Departamento de Historia de América y Medieval y Ciencias Historiográficas de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Se trata de un proyecto en Humanidades Digitales, tanto por los métodos de análisis que utiliza como por los recursos que elabora. Words That Mattered o Palabras que Importaban es un proyecto de historia social y cultural que indaga sobre la relevancia del lenguaje en los procesos de negociación de la pertenencia en las ciudades bajomedievales del ámbito hispánico. El póster plantea el análisis de datos textuales como metodología y presenta el primer corpus exploratorio con el que se trabajará: les Informacions de la Ciutadania, documentación generada en torno a la adquisición de la ciudadanía en la Barcelona de la primera mitad del siglo XV. Se reflexiona sobre el proceso de estructuración del corpus: transcripción de la fuente material y creación de un texto etiquetado en formato XML, listo para ser procesado por programas de análisis lingüístico como TXM. Finalmente, el póster plantea un primer ensayo de las posibilidades que ofrecen estas metodologías, proponiendo un análisis frecuencial y progresivo de los términos que significaban y cualificaban la residencia del buen ciudadano en la Barcelona de las primeras décadas del siglo XV.
